Commercial Heat Pumps
Commercial heat pumps can heat and cool for significantly less cost (upto 60%) than furnaces and boilers and other systems, as they “move” heat rather than generate it. If offsite monitoring is important there are now wifi versions available now such that heating and cooling can be monitored on or offsite via a smartphone or tablet.
The commercial heat pump cycle is fully reversible, providing heat in the winter and cool dehumidifying air in the summer, and therefore can provide efficient year-round climate control.
Because the air outside and the ground always contain some heat, a heat pump can supply heat to a property even on cold winter days. Oddly, air at –15°C still contains about 80 percent of the heat it had at 20°C.
3 Types of Commercial Heat Pumps
There are three main types of commercial heat pumps— geothermal, air source and split system ductless. All heat pumps including commercial systems should be installed by a professional HVAC (heating and cooling) technician who can evaluate and deliver the right product for the size of your building. This is very important, as the wrong kind of unit for the size of the facility can generate a plethora of large scale problems.
